FREEDOM FEST, YUKON, OKLAHOMA:
Well, we made it through another July 4th show. Most years we’re concerned with the heat. This year it was RAIN! The forecast was all over the place, but the SHOW MUST GO ON! We opened the gates at 6:30am, and we already had show goers on the field. We set up our canopies for the registration and parking teams. We did have a few sprinkles and it rained once or twice. But by noon time, it was clear sunny and humid! But we’ll take the humidity over the rain!
The Oklahoma Mustang Club has hosted the Yukon Freedom Fest for 3 years. Each year the proceeds of the show are donated to a local Yukon charity. This year the club members chose HELPING OK SENIORS. We’ve posted a little more information about it below. This year we raised near $2 for this worthy charity. And of course we couldn’t have done it without the help of our members and the City of Yukon. Thank you all for your support in conducting another charity fundraiser car show!
Here’s more information about HELPING OK SENIORS: Spanish Cove, a not-for-profit senior living organization, is working to raise funds for the construction of a much-needed Adult Day Care Center in Canadian County. With over 11,000 Americans turning 65 every day, the demand for affordable, quality care for seniors continues to grow. Many family members and spouses struggle to balance caregiving with work or other responsibilities, often facing overwhelming emotional and financial challenges. This new Adult Day Care Center will provide a safe, supportive environment for seniors during the day, regardless of their ability to pay. As a nonprofit facility, it will offer vital relief to caregivers while enhancing the quality of life for seniors in the community.
