DESCRIPTION:MUSEUM OF OSTEOLOGY-OKLAHOMA CITY: Will be a great time!  We have been here many years ago\, and it was extremely interesting. And now they have even more.  And hopefully\, we can meet Sir Indiana Jones!  He’s the resident kitty that keeps the museum rodent free. \nCost for the museum:  $13 for 12yo+; $11 for 4-11; Free for children 3yo or younger. \nAfter a tour of the museum\, we will traveling to Noble and eating lunch at Kendall’s.  The address of the museum and Kendall’s is in the directions. \nYou can download a copy of the directions here: \n\n\n\n    \n        \n            \n            \n                Pony Drive-Museum of Osteology\n                 1 file(s)  172.05 KB\n            \n            \n                Download\n            \n        \n    \n\n\n\n. \nHere’s what Wikipedia has to say about the museum: \nThe museum focuses on the form and function of the skeletal system with numerous educational and taxonomic displays featuring all five vertebrate classes.  The collections housed by the Museum of Osteology are the result of over 40 years of collecting by Jay Villemarette.  Currently\, the collections consist of approximately 7\,000 specimens representing over 1\,800 species of mammals\, birds\, reptiles\, amphibians and fish. The museum hosts a multitude of fun educational opportunities and events for all ages. According to the website\, one of the main goals of these programs is to make people excited about the natural world and inspire conservation efforts. \nThere are also many opportunities for museum guests to touch real bone and take pictures with fully articulated skeletons. \nSince its opening\, over 500\,000 guests from all over the world have come to the museum to see the displays\, fill out scavenger hunts\, explore the collection for research papers\, and pick up commemorative items from the gift shop.
