SUMMARY:HPDE Training
DESCRIPTION:HPDE TRAINING\, PHASE I\, MUSTANG:  OUR FIRST CLUB TRACK DAY IS SATURDAY MARCH 25TH. YOU CAN ATTEND THAT ONE OR ANY OTHER SCHEDULED TRACK DAYS. \nThis training will take place at the Mustang Town Center\, Meeting Room D and will be from 8:30am – noon. THIS IS FOR OMC MEMBERS ONLY. \nPhase I training focuses on HALLETT driving experience. Should we have enough interest\, we’ll conduct a Phase II training which covers events other than Hallett that involves travel and more preparation. \n.\nIf you are interested in HPDE (High Performance Driving Events) the OMC is conducting a training class to introduce members to what it’s all about.  Registration for your time at Hallett is $175 for track time ($200 if it’s 2 weeks prior to the event) and $50 driver’s license / membership (good for one year). \n. \nHallett also has private track days called VIP Club Days.  A little more expensive\, $375\, but there are more benefits to a VIP Club Day.  The biggest thing is they limit the number of cars on track to 5 so there’s FAR fewer cars on track!  There are other benefits to a VIP track day also. \n. \nFor more information about VIP Club Days\, click here:  https://www.hallettracing.net/events/vip-club-days/ \n. \nFOR MORE INFORMATION OR TO ENROLL IN THIS CLASS\, CONTACT OUR HPDE DIRECTOR BY EMAILING AKINGJR73@YAHOO.COM. SPACE IS LIMITED. \nIf you are interested in attending\, please register below: \n\nFill out my online form.\n\n Fill out my Wufoo form! .\n.\n.\nMORE INFORMATION ABOUT HALLETT: \nHallett calls their HPDE events HST (High Speed Touring). Here’s how they describe HST: High Speed Touring at Hallett is your chance to drive your car on a real road race course at an affordable cost. \nSo you’ve got a really neat performance car – vintage\, modern\, exotic or one of the many sporty performance tuner coupes and sedans that are in vogue. And maybe you frequently experience frustrations because you can never really open-up your car to the spirited driving for which you think you and your car are capable. Fear of traffic citations\, your reputation\, your wife/parents\, etc. keep your urge to drive at speed in check. Are you really wanting to be an on-track driver and not just a spectator\, but maybe not quite ready for wheel-to-wheel racing? Then the High Speed Touring Series is for YOU! It’s great fun for all motor heads AND you can afford it…read on . . . \nHST lets YOU\, at modest cost\, get lots of seat-time lapping\, AT SPEED\, in performance-oriented STREET CARS! It’s easy to qualify you and your car for HST lapping at the Hallett Circuit. Here’s the deal: You must become a member of Hallett High Speed Touring Club ($50 once a year). ANY street-legal car (except SUVs\, trucks\, wagons\, vans) can be used WITHOUT normal race prep…no roll cage\, no driving suit\, no prior competition driving experience are required for this non-race series. \nIf it is your first time to drive on the Hallett track in this HST series\, you are REQUIRED to sign up at least a week in advance and prepare for the Driver Education class ($50 one-time fee). We mail you an interactive high performance driving DVD to study. There will be a short exam at the track in the 8:30 a.m. DE required classroom. You will be required to complete a tech sheet\, which we spot check at the track when you arrive. \nShow up at the Hallett Tower\, first floor\, before 8 a.m. the day you have entered (The spots are often sold out before the event\, so do not delay in sending in the entry form\, linked below). All HST drivers are required to attend the 9:00 HST meeting. You must have factory seatbelts\, wear a Snell approved safety helmet (rentals are available) and you must wear a long- sleeve shirt and long pants while you drive on track. You’ll get FIVE 15-minute on-track sessions per event day for around $150.00 (a super bargain for any major road racing course). In the DE program you also meet with instructors between sessions. \nThat’s it…MAX FUN – DRIVE YOUR DREAM! \nMore information about Hallett:  http://www.hallettracing.net/events/high-speed-touring/

SUMMARY:Dyno Day
DESCRIPTION:TRICKY PERFORMANCE\, MUSTANG: Once again\, we will be offering our club members a dyno day to test our their cars\, or trucks\, to determine the horsepower and torque their vehicles produce. \nSo\, what’s a dyno:  A dynamometer\, or “dyno” for short\, is a device for measuring force\, moment of force (torque)\, or power. For example\, the power produced by an engine\, motor or other rotating prime mover can be calculated by simultaneously measuring torque and rotational speed (rpm) \nIn this case\, they back your vehicle onto the dyno\, strap it down\, make some connections and run it to redline a couple of times.  Its a great thing to do if you’re considering mods\, or have had mods done to your car. \nFor $50\, you’ll receive 3 pulls\, and a printout of your vehicles performance.  If you stick around to watch some of the other cars\, you might want to bring some ear plugs.  It gets REALLY loud! \nFor you dyno folks\, Trick Performance uses a  DynoJet 224X dynamometer.
