One of the benefits to becoming a member of the OMC is some of the perks that come along with membership! Perks? Well, the most recent “perk” was the High Performance Driving Experience (HPDE) training program. This program covered such subjects as Preparing your car for track day; What to bring to the track; What are all the different flags for; How to best negotiate turns; Understanding track terms; Safety as well as several other subjects. OMC member Arturo Cortez and president Allen King spent 3 1/2 hours discussing the topics and sharing on track experiences. Currently the OMC has a half dozen members that attend HPDE throughout the midwest. In fact, two of our members will be traveling to California to experience HPDE events at Laguna Seca, Sonoma and Buttonwillow racetracks later this year. We look forward to their pictures and stories of the Laguna Seca “cork screw”. Congratulations to our first class of HPDE graduates: Tim Morgan, Scott Logan, Aaron Spring, Jason Logan, Chuck Foley and Scott Diehl. Go have some fun guys!
