4/8/2018 Autocross Event #2 – Remington Park, Oklahoma City, OK

Oklahoma Region SCCA hosted its second event of the 2018 season on Sunday at Remington Park. The course design having multiple technical elements tested both the car and driver abilities. 62 total competitors braved the cold weather, 7 OMC members competed( Tyler Garling, Greg Blocker, Zac Blocker, Shawn McCoy, Shawn Adams, Jessalyn Adams, and Dwight Feuerborn).

Tyler Garling, Zac Blocker, Greg Blocker, and Dwight Feuerborn competed in American Muscle class with a total of 12 entries for event 2. The morning session, with the cold temperatures, drivers struggled with limited grip on the race surface. After the first session, Zac Blocker was in a battle for first with a time of 45.535, .238 behind the leader. Greg Blocker and Tyler Garling were fighting for 3rd with Tyler ahead his 46.843 to Greg’s 47.001. Dwight Feuerborn was in 11th with a 53.351. OMC members hoped to improve on their times in the afternoon session with just slightly better weather conditions. Zac Blocker improved with his time of 44.441 to finish in 1st place in the class and the fastest time of day of all 62 competitors. Greg Blocker bettered his time with a 46.703 to overtake Tyler Garling although both fell to 5th and 6th in the class. Dwight Feuerborn was unable to post a faster time in the afternoon and finished with his 53.351 and 11th place, but gained experience.

Shawn McCoy competed in Master class, his best morning time was 51.199. He was able to improve in the afternoon by 2 seconds and finsh with a 49.208 and 5th in class.

Shawn Adams and Jessalyn Adams both competed in Tuner class (11 competitors). In the morning session Shawn’s 48.174 and Jessalyn’s 51.222 had them near the top in the class. Both were able to improve in the afternoon, Shawn’s 47.403 resulted in 1st place in the class. Jessalyn improved to 49.467 and a 4th place finish.

Once again solid performance for all OMC members. Congratulations to Zac Blocker with the fastest time of the event.
