Thanks to all those OMC members that came out to support this years National “Click It or Ticket It” campaign!  We encourage all our members to wear their seatbelt and it always serves as a good example for our young Mustang family members too!  Thanks also to Bob Moore Ford for providing the venue!  Pictured is OMC member and Click It or Ticket Chairman, Chris Thomas with the Shawnee Police Department,  OMC president Allen King, Sabrina Mackey with the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office and Chuck Mai with AAA .

This was the annual National “Click It or Ticket” media kick off campaign event. Starting on May 18th, Law Enforcement around the country will be focusing on seat belt violations for two weeks.  There will be no warnings!  In 2014, were 244 Oklahomans lost their lives in crashes who were not wearing their seat belt.  You can imagine the number throughout the country.  Here in the metro area, the Metro Area Traffic Safety Council (MATSC) hosted this event to get the word out, promoting the use of seat belts.  There is at least five other area traffic safety councils in Oklahoma.  They are all connected to the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office.  Our goal is to make Oklahoma roads safer.  Chris Thomas is the chairman of MATSC and that happened through his job at Shawnee PD.

Several law enforcement officers spoke.  The first was Lt Troy German with the OHP.  Also Chuck Mai with AAA spoke about the importance of wearing you seat belt.  Other agencies that were there in attendance,  Safe Kids of Oklahoma, OU PD, Norman PD, Edmond PD, OHP, Shawnee PD, Absentee-Shawnee Police, OK County S.O. and Pottawatomie County S.O.
Chris gave his thanks to the OMC members for their attendance and BIG thanks to Jenn Schlick and Bob Moore Ford for being such great hosts.   Chris says he is so proud that the Oklahoma Mustang Club has stepped up to the plate and assisted in promoting this endeavor.  It shows character of the club and its members!
Thanks Chris for all you do for law enforcement and what you do and have done for the OMC!  Proud to be…OMC!!!
